Reminders of Him
By Colleen Hoover
There are
very few books that I read in one day; Reminders of Him is one of those books. Even
though the beginning started off slow, it picked up in the middle.
I am huge fan
of Colleen Hoover, everything she has written, I have! There is something about
how she writes such complex characters that catches your attention and keeps
you intrigued in them, right till the last page.
Reminders of
him gave me so many emotions, I was angry, anxious, sad and hurt all at once.
The story line about having to trust in people’s intentions and having to watch the tail of grief unfold, was what kept me
turning the pages. The vulnerability in
this book is beautifully written.
The story
of two narratives to the same horrific accident is moving! Having different
people in pain and different point of views telling the story, makes for an interesting read. I liked how
Colleen Hoover caught the different point of views to each side of an accident
that took the life of someone who was loved by many. The ways she writes allows
you to feel for each character, and to feel the loss in different ways. However,
the thing that makes this book is watching two stories of the same tragedy come together, and
watching the characters heal!
How Colleen
Hoover wrote each character having pain was intriguing, but what was catching was how each
character allowed the other to feel their pain and made room for their pain within
their healing.
The romance
within this book isn’t the main focus, but is the perfect addiction to the story
line. The romance is a sweet, cute meet moments, that have some intense and
steamy moments.
I would recommend to any one that wants a good storyline with a side of much needed romance.
